Andropausal Health

Andropause is the male equivalent of menopause. For men, the primary sex hormone is testosterone, and its decline usually happens gradually over a period of years. Symptoms include fatigue, lack of interest or motivation, loss of libido, changes in erections and more. Sex hormone balance can be reestablished for most men with bio-identical testosterone, which has been shown in numerous studies to be beneficial and low risk. See Bio-identical Hormones.

Autism

Autism"Autism" reflects a complex set of communication and behavior changes seen in children. The current designation "Autism Spectrum Disorders" reflects a broad range of these problems, from Persistent Developmental Delay to full-blown ] autism, including Asperger’s syndrome. Some experts believe that Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) and hyperactivity are part of this spectrum. Years ago, autism’s predominant form was the rare genetic type, clearly compromising children from birth. We now see a virtual epidemic of 1 in 100 children diagnosed with regressive autism; the child appears normal at birth, develops normally, and then has a sudden decline in behavior, developmental abilities, and communication between ages one to two. The latter form of autism has responded well to the Defeat Autism Now! Group physicians’ treatment approach provided at GMA.

Leaky Gut Syndrome: Dysbiosis

Leaky Gut Syndrome The overgrowth of several toxic bacteria and the yeast, candida, - referred to as dysbiosis - can lead to other medical problems, including Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). The inflamed bowel can cause "leaky" intestines by allowing protein molecules that should stay in the gut to get into the body’s circulation. The immune system may develop antibodies to these proteins, and food allergies may result. Dysbiosis is readily and precisely evaluated by a simple stool test.

Lyme Disease

Lyme disease is the syndrome caused by infection by the Borrelia (Lyme) spirochete. Many use the term "Lyme disease" to refer to symptoms caused by other tick-borne infections co-transmitted to humans along with Borrelia. Two examples of these "co-infections" are Babesia and Ehrlichia. Lyme disease is a complex illness discussed further in written materials prepared by Gordon Medical practitioners.

Menopausal Health

As progesterone, estradiol, and testosterone levels of women begin to decline at mid-life, women may develop insomnia, hot flashes, fatigue, loss of libido, and other symptoms. Reduced sex hormone levels can also result in the imbalance of other body systems. Fortunately, we can reestablish this delicate balance to control symptoms and to prevent long term illnesses by addressing issues of sex hormones, adrenal support, thyroid balance, glucose metabolism, and lifestyle practices. See Bio-identical Hormones.

Mold

moldHundreds of mold species can potentially cause health problems when they secrete allergic reactions or inflammatory mycotoxins. Molds are found in external environments or can colonize mucosal surfaces such as the sinuses and intestinal tract. Harmful mold species are often found in water-damaged building materials after floods, roof leaks, and plumbing leaks. Mold illness is a complex subject. Please ask your GMA practitioner for more information.

Multiple Chemical Sensitivities (MCS)

Multiple Chemical SensitivitiesOften, as chronic illness progresses, sensitivity to chemicals, scents, and exposures they never reacted to before begins to increase. This can be debilitating, but by curing the underlying illness with a variety of new electrical devices, this process can be improved and in some cases, reversed.
