With Rex’s happy disposition, he believes what Og Mandino says in his book, Greatest Salesman in the World, “Do not aspire for wealth, and labor not only to be rich, strive instead for happiness, to be loved and to love, and most importantly to acquire peace of mind and serenity.”
Rex is originally from the Philippines, where he completed his training as a doctor. He originally wanted to be an oncologist, but near the end of his residency training in internal medicine, he was asked to start a hospice, which was then non-existent in the Philippines. He was sent to Melbourne, Australia to learn about hospice, and brought it back to the Philippines to start one of the first in-patient and homecare hospices there. He practiced internal medicine and hospice for 15 years.
In one of the medical conventions he attended in the USA, he visited and fell in love with Sonoma County. He decided to move his family here. Rex is a happy man living a happy life with his family in beautiful Sonoma County. He got his RN license to continue with his love of taking care of patients. Working at GMA interests him so much because he learns more and more about the alternative techniques we use, and gets to collaborate with Dr. Gordon on better educational tools for our staff and patients.
GMA is looking forward to expanding the role that Rex has with patients to include more education. Rex works at both the Santa Rosa and San Rafael offices, and is fast becoming a favorite of patients and staff alike. With his 24 years of experience in the health care field, he lives what he preaches, and stresses the importance of an active lifestyle to maintain good health and attain great satisfaction. He wants to be able to share this with his patients whom he hopes will be happy as well.
